Chooze and socks!

I was just thinking when did kid’s socks become so incredibly cool? When more families started having the ‘no shoe policy inside the home’. (Note this practise is soo commonplace in Africa and Asia because of the dust). Or when yoga became a part of the gym class curriculum. Or when socks became more interesting than just the normal white, black and blue, JUST BECAUSE….

So my pick of the day would most definitely be TicTacToe. I love the fun graphics: the trucks, cupcakes, trains, princesses. And then of course, my son had to point out the ‘online glow in the dark socks’. “Awesome..” Now wouldn’t that a great give-away for a slumber party make?

No socks discussion would be complete without shoes. Today my pick would be the more unconventional brand of shoes: Chooze.
Chooze was inspired by the designer’s daughter who would wear mismatched shoes. I remember noticing a kid at school wearing two different shoes, and I went over so boringly mom-like and said, “Gosh, I am so sorry that you couldn’t find your other shoe. Good that you didn’t let that stop you from picking another one, but why didn’t you just pick two of the same kind?” I mean, i am sure he looked at me and thought ‘but that’s just soo old fashioned”. But this brand has been so popular, that Angelina Jolie’s kids are wearing them!!!

Note they even have mismatched shoes for grown-ups if you are into this style. Unlike other brands though, Chooze is really very philanthropic and invests its profits into anti-poverty programs. So not only are you encouraging your child’s individuality, you are also being charitable. Don’t you just love one-stop shopping??
