French clothes are truly chic, and can be particularly scrumptious on a little baby or a child. The quality of the top brands is so great that you can reuse the clothes for siblings; or your child can just look svelte on a special occasion. However, if you are desperate that your child look as though they live in Paris half the year, I would suggest finding the sample sales…of which there are many. Daily candy lists sample sales for kids …and finds deals in the major US cities like New York, Miami and also scouts out deals in London (www.dailycandy.com/kids/online). There is also the vogue city (www.thevoguecity.com). Also, keep an eye out for sample sales by store. Petit Bateau has had several in New York.
So my favorite picks today are as follows:
Petit bateau, stylish, great quality, lasts forever, see one of my earlier posts. I love the baby clothes actually, truly adorable. Probably one of the most popular french brands for kids. (www.petit-bateau.com)
Bon Point is very cute dressy. Very preppy. And it has an online boutique. Quite pricey so better for special occasions.
Catimini has got great colors and is really quite festive. What I particularly like about this brand, is that the children’s clothes are really age appropriate, as opposed to looking like mini-adult versions. www.catimini.com
Jacadi is one of France’s premium brands and actually my favorite: ‘understated, sophisticated, elegance’. I love both the boys and the girls selections and you can also shop online.
